Reinventing ART - Alex Turco
This month we have the pleasure of interviewing one of Famosa’s featured designers, Alex Turco.
Alex's Decorative Art Panels are considered to be cult objects and are much sought after by fashion and design addicts.
What inspires you and your art work?
The greatest thing from which I take inspiration is nature, I love all the minerals and the different nuances of the earth and rocks.
I’m actually a "mineral collector” have always been attracted to them since a young age!
How would you define your style?
What I do is something very unusual, it’s a rare mix between art and design, it is really difficult to define our creation,
Sometimes it’s like we’re tailors and we’re sewing a dress, sometimes it’s like we’re fossil collectors and we cut a piece of a mountain end extract a slab which we then remake and embellish.
It’s definitely something new for the most beautiful comptemporary houses around the world.

Who are your big influences and where do you draw inspiration from?
I take inspiration from everything around me, fashion, art, design, architecture and of course from nature.
How would you define success?
When you do something everyday that you like and when you have the opportunity to invest emotion in to your work for your clients! This is a very important element of success, for me!
What's your ultimate dream design project?
We did an amazing project for Louis Vuitton for Peter Marino Architect in Beverly Hills, I think our Art Panels came out beautiful and in line with the expectations of this insane architect!
What's the best part about your job?
I really love everything, from the marketing part, that I personally follow, to the production time!
What’s your favorite project up to date?
One of my favorites was a project that we did a year ago in Pattaya Beach, Thailand for the Amari Hotel .. it was a huge lobby entirely covered with our Art Panels.
Do you have any particular goals for your career/business in the future?
Yes of course, I’m a dreamer !!
My goal is to work with the major interior design firms around the world and crate a new line of unique pieces of furniture using my technique.
Thank you Alex!
